How
did it start?
The idea of a
single representative body for CB Radio was first mentioned at a meeting between
the User Groups and the Radiocommunications Agency, where it was thought that CB
radio and its operators would benefit from being represented by a single body,
as do the amateurs via the R.S.G.B.
The support for this idea was given by CB'ers when all licensed users were
surveyed by the RA in 1995. The returned Survey Forms showed that 88.9% of
licensed users supported the idea of a single representational body.
At the Nottingham Open Forum in October 1995, at which CB'ers met senior
officers of the Radiocommunications Agency, it was agreed to set up a working
party to make recommendations which would lead to the formation of a National
organisation for CB.
